Miniature sarape, handwoven on a backstrap loom in Tlaxcala, Mexico. A natural cream ground is framed by bold teal and red vertical stripe borders, with scattered small floral motifs across the field. At the center, a warm golden-brown diamond medallion with intricate black, white, and teal interior detail anchors the composition. Twisted corner tassels complete the piece. A masterwork in miniature — every element of the full sarape tradition rendered at small scale with uncompromising precision. Naturally dyed throughout. Design and dye work by Ignacio Netzahualcoyotl, 2021 winner of the Grand Prize for Mexican Traditional Patrimony. Woven by Isaac Netzahualcoyotl.
