Afghan Cashgora Wool Scarf
Hand spun and hand woven feather light cashgora wool scarf from a women's cooperative in the Pamir Mountain region of northern Afghanistan. Beautifully soft and classic.
Our Afghan Scarf is made by Uzbek women from the Pamir Mountain region of northern Afghanistan, a country most US citizens relate to principally through the fog of war.
Cashgora is a fine wool derived from the crossbreeding of Cashmere and Angora goats which produces a fiber that is more durable and less prone to pilling. The spinning work used to be done in groups in local workshops, but that has changed since the Taliban takeover.
