Microclimate Designs

Isabel Infante is a Chilean designer who creates collections inspired by distinct territories and microclimates of Latin America. The exploration of nature, its ecosystems and materiality, and of fibers and dyes is the origin for her textile, wallpaper, print and stationery collections.
The Ecosystems series celebrates nature and biodiversity. Illustrations and patterns honor the richness, diversity and uniqueness of ecosystems and draw attention to the need to preserve this planet we live on.

The Lacandona Jungle is a region in Chiapas, Mexico, with a humid tropical climate and the most diverse plant community in this country. Tall trees such as mahogany, ceiba and mamey are home to bromeliads and orchids. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and beetles swarm. Macaws, toucans, and parrots fly from branch to branch, along with spider monkeys and saraguatos. This ecosystem is a living example of biodiversity and a close relationship of interdependence between living beings.
