Duna Spice Jar
Our Duna hand-carved marble and Guayacán wood spice jar is made in Mexico by our Mexican partner, Ayres. The Guayacán wood lid is made in the Yucatán and the marble is carved from stoner quarried in the state of Puebla with artisans who work under fair trade practices.
Ayres founders Joana Valdéz, an industrial designer from Yucatán, Mexico, and Karim Molina, a textile designer from Caracas, Venezuela, share many similar values with Heritage by Hand values that we all deserve special objects that tell a story and a purpose within our spaces.
Ayres designs and creates simple, personal handmade objects with natural materials that tell great stories.

CARE
Wood
We do not use chemicals on the wood, so we recommend washing with water and soap, then drying. Intermittent oiling with linseed oil, coconut oil or beeswax will prevent cracking.
Marble
The marble is quarried in Puebla, Mexico and has rich veins and deep color. We recommend using it for dry spices, but it could have uses in other areas of the home aside from the kitchen.
